Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Barbados and stay at the Mermaid Apartments. Quite frankly I don't know where to begin, what I enjoyed most, the wonderful ambience of the country or the pleasant feelings of being at the Mermaid.
I'll begin with the Mermaid, a brief walk from the magnificent Crane Beach.
As a seasoned traveller, I found that the Mermaid had all of the amenities I could wish for, a deluxe kitchen, a wonderful living and dining area and a gallery on which to sit to enjoy the garden and wildlife, yes wildlife. Each morning I would enjoy my cup of coffee in the company of monkeys!
Oh and did I mention the beds...Wonderful!
From the roof top, the view of the Atlantic Ocean is inspiring. What beauty.
Barbados has become my favourite place to vacation. It is safe, the scenery is spectacular, the people, warm, welcoming and hard working.
One of my favourite memories is of going on an island tour on a Sunday. Everywhere I looked, families dressed up were on their way to one of the many churches that dot the landscape and are integral to life on the island.

Ian and I just want to let you know what a terrific time we had while staying at Mermaid Apartments during our November vacation in Barbados. The condo was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. It was elegant and very comfortable.
We particularly enjoyed breakfast and evening cocktails on the terrace overlooking the garden. It was nice to be located in the “real” Barbados near the famous Crane Resort and with the spectacular swimming beach just a short walk. And virtually no one on it, it felt like our own private beach. We would definitely return and recommend Mermaid Apartments to others who are looking for a vacation rental.
